Army Cadet Corps
Supporting youth involvment in military training
Over a century ago, Canada started providing young male students with military training and drill. This led to the formation of militia sub-units called Drill Associations, which eventually became Cadet Corps in 1898.
The Strathcona Agreement of 1910 had a significant impact on the development of modern-day cadets. Lord Strathcona, the Canadian High Commissioner to Great Britain, entrusted $500,000 to the Dominion government to promote citizenship and patriotism among Canadian cadets. This was achieved through physical training, marksmanship and military drill taught in schools. Even today, the Regimental Associations Trust Fund still supports cadet activities.
The Regiment is proud of the following cadet corps who wear our cap badge and share our name, and look forward to many years of continuing support to them.
